Canticle Center — Sisters of St. Francis & Lourdes University
Program Solutions Group provided Pre-Design and Planning Services, and acted as Construction Manager for this renovation project for the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania and Lourdes University. The renovation transformed the 36,000 sq. ft. former ‘Franciscan Academy’ into a new facility, the ‘Canticle Center’, that serves the current needs of both the Sisters of St. Francis and Lourdes University.
The Sophia Center, a counseling center sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis, moved part of their operations into new offices in the east wing of the facility. The rest of the building will be utilized by Lourdes University to house several programs.
Graduate admissions offices, graduate classrooms, a computer classroom, and lounge area will be housed in a portion of the facility. In addition, the Fine Arts program has their own dedicated wing with art classrooms including oil painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and a kiln room with four electric kilns. The art department will also utilize a high-ceiling central gallery for students to showcase their work.
To accommodate this new use, the project also included site work to construct a new parking lot.
