Healthcare Reit — Corporate Headquarters

PSG recently completed the transformation of the former Dana Headquarters facility on Dorr Street into the Corporate Headquarters for Health Care REIT. Health Care REIT is a real estate investment trust that specializes in health care properties such as skilled nursing units, and assisted living and independent living properties.

Officially turning over the 75,000 sq. ft. Phase I to Health Care REIT in September of 2010, and the 35,000 sq. ft. Phase II in December 2011, the nearly two year-long project incorporated multiple “green” technologies, including retention ponds, recycled walkways, environmentally friendly HVAC systems, and even a 2 acre solar field which provides 20 percent of the facility’s electricity.

Phase I was awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum status, the highest achievable level in the LEED rating system, and has realized a 32 percent reduction in energy consumption and a 40 percent reduction in water usage. Phase II will be seeking LEED status in the coming months.
