Toledo Area Humane Society

The Toledo Area Humane Society chose to partner with Program Solutions Group for the design and construction of their new facility in 2013. PSG’s early involvement helped to ensure a seamless project that came in on-time and on-budget, despite any challenges presented by the re-purposing of the existing building. Pre-construction services included inspecting the existing building prior to purchase, initial building layout and design coordination, and construction budgeting. Program Solutions Group also acted as the construction manager to ensure a successful project from beginning to end.

The scope of the project included the complete renovation of the existing 16,700 sq. ft. facility, as well as a new 1,000 sq. ft. addition on the rear of the facility for receiving, storage, and a shop area. For the staff the building houses administrative offices, a conference room, a large community room, laundry facilities, a break room, volunteer coordination offices, and adoption counseling offices. The new facility also houses indoor dog kennels, outdoor dog runs, an indoor puppy room, multiple cat rooms, ‘get acquainted’ rooms, and a full array of veterinary services areas such as treatment rooms, recovery rooms, isolation rooms, an x-ray room, and surgical area.
